Hi there — I’m so glad you found your way here.
2025 marks my 50th trip around the sun, so I’m celebrating the only way I know how: with a paintbrush!
The unifying theme of my work for this year will be the flora and fauna of one of my favorite places on earth -- and my new home: Madison County, North Carolina. Madison County is located deep in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina, and much of the county's terrain is rugged, heavily forested, and sparsely populated. The county's northern border is with the state of Tennessee.
Hosting hundreds of species of birds, mammals large and small, reptiles, fish, and gorgeous native plants (some of which are found no where else) Madison County is an endless source of inspiration for me. Come along with me this year as I feature some of my favorite aspects of the place I call home.
About the Art
I paint what makes me happy: dogs being dogs, wildflowers being wild, and mountains just sitting there looking majestic.
My dog portraits? Think: “dogs doing dog stuff” — painted in vibrant watercolors with a splash of attitude.
My other work is a love letter to the flora and fauna of the Appalachian landscape.
Why I Paint
Because animals are better than people -- wise, loyal, funny, and pure-hearted — and we could all use more of that. Because their lives are too short, and they deserve to be celebrated. Because in this crazy world, connecting with nature puts everything in perspective.
I also give back by donating custom pet portraits to rescue fundraisers.
